I have a 400 MHz B&W Rev. 2 G3 with the original 6GB HD and a second 20GB HD. Tiger is installed on the 20GB, 640 MB RAM. Tiger ran beautifully, even after a couple of software updates. Then about a month or two ago, after one of the updates, it would not restart. I got it to go, but now it is unuseably slow. Slow like 10 minutes to startup and when I launch Safari, the dock logo bounces 50-80 times, then another 2-5 minutes or a home page to load. I did a disk utility repair on both disks. What can I possibly look for?

Thanks

just posted this in the other thread about a g3 blue&white...

make sure your firmware is up to date....

i had a friend with a similar issue: she installed 10.3 on hers; it worked well until she updated to 10.3.5 (i think); then was a mess.

she updated the firmware, did an archive & install, and is doing well now...

Firmware is up to date. If I launch Safari after startup (a total of 10 -12 minutes), then quit Safari, I can launch Safari again with only 2 dock bounces or about 10 seconds. Same with any other application. It's the Startup that takes so long and the first launch of any application. Still need help here.....
