Hello folks.

I'm trying to compile and run retawq, but I'm stuck. It can be downloaded from the website here: http://retawq.sourceforge.net/ and there's an OS X "patch" here: http://darwinports.opendarwin.org/da...ts/www/retawq/

I originally came over from Linux so I know basic compiling and such, but what I don't understand is how to apply the patch. I've run configure right out of the box and it completed okay, but when I ran make it stopped immediately with an error.

Can someone tell me how to get this running?

Thanks in advance!

Hmm, sounds like a cool program, I've never heard of it. Anyways:
Code:
[theman@nacho: ~/retawq-0.2.6b]$ patch -p0 < patch-configure patching file configure [theman@nacho: ~/retawq-0.2.6b]$ patch -p0 < patch-stuff.h patching file stuff.h [thefro@nacho: ~/retawq-0.2.6b]$ ./configure ... [theman@nacho: ~/retawq-0.2.6b]$ make [theman@nacho: ~/retawq-0.2.6b]$ file retawq retawq: Mach-O executable ppc
Seemed to work for me once those patches were applied... so how do you use that program? I tried it for a minute, but it doesn't behave like links/links2/lynx... haha.

Hey, thanks for the help!

Err, sorry but you typed in EXACTLY "patch -p0 < patch-configure patching file configure" .. or am I being stupid?

As for the keys, try going here: http://retawq.sourceforge.net/docu/key.html

Yes! I was being stupid.

Code:
man patch
who would've thought, huh?

I did
Code:
patch configure patch-configure
then

Code:
patch stuff.h patch-stuff.h
after that ./configure & make ran perfectly.

Still, [APi]TheMan thanks for helping out

You bet. Thanks for the heads up on that program. May I ask what you like about it, by the way?

It was a challenge by my friend to get it up and running on OS X. He was the once who introduced it to me. I prefer lynx, gopher, pine & tin.

Is there any way to compile tin to run on OS X? Now that would be cool!

edit: Nevermind, I found a Darwin port of tin here
