I have just installed Panther on my iBook and everything went pretty smoothly. After disk 1 had done it's thing it asked me for disc 2 which i put in, then after that it rebooted and now it seems to be done and everything is working fine... so what is disc 3 for? Do i need to run it and what will it do?

Hmmm, I think it includes stuff like Xcode and the restore utilities, not too sure though.

It stores older print drivers and stuff. I assume you did a "Custom" install where you picked what you wanted to install?

You can insert the CD and navigate the files in the Finder if you want to see what is on there.

I did an easy install, not a custom one.

I'll have a look at the contents of the CD in the finder...

It's the version of tiger that runs on x86 processors. no really, its junk you probably don't need. I don't think its xcode though, since I remember getting a 4th disc.
