I'm wondering if there is a way to remap my ibook's trackpad button (to be a right click) without affecting any other native os x trackpad functionality. I've tried sidetrack and it works for the remapping of the button but I lose the two-fingered scrolling that I really like. Is there a product our there that anyone knows of that'll do what I want, or is there some way to manually remap through the terminal?

From their documentation, it sounds like iScroll is intended only to add two-finger scrolling to older trackpads, not sure if it does remapping of the button or not, because I can't actually install it anyway. When I try to install iScroll I get an error saying that my trackpad is incompatible - from this, though it isn't listed in the system requirements for iScroll, I take it that it is only compatible with older (pre-two finger scrolling) trackpads.
Thanks for the suggestion, though.

If you want the button to right (control) click then sidetrack is your app.
If you want something else, then I have no idea.

Hmmm. Guess it is intended for the older models. But iScroll does allow you to map the button or tap to right-click.

I want to remap the button to right (control) click but keep the two finger scrolling, which sidetrack doesn't allow. It seems like there must be a way to remap the button only through the terminal, I just don't know where to start in that department. Is there anyone with more in depth knowledge that might be able to help?

Thanks, that actually works pretty well. Its a different angle then I had thought of taking but when set on the quickest setting is very useable for me.
I'd still be interested in knowing if someone can direct me as to how to remap through the terminal though.
Cheers.

iScroll!!!!! it could right click as long as u have two buttons on the trackpad when u click the trackpad button. ie. regular click is normal, two fingers on the trackpad when clicking is right click.
