My sister was telling me that she used her college's computer lab iMac G5 that allows her to click on "Guest" account login and go straight to desktop without asking for password..... While she cannot do the same thing with "Admin" account.. she'd have to type in the password to enter the admin account.... but not the "guest" account? How can I? Is that possible?

Thanks!

You can do it with an Admin account as well, though not recommended at all. Just go to change your password and instead of filling out the new password, leave it blank and hit ok or change password. You can do that with any account.

But there's no point in having a Guest account and an Admin account if anyone can login to either with no password. It defeats the purpose!

Why would you want to do this??

I would NEVER leave ANY account without a password unless it was a limited account (non-admin) and the machine were non-essential and had ALL services turned off, AND was behind a NAT router with the OS X firewall turned on.

Even then, I'd think twice before doing something like that.

Now, if the machine was never hooked up to any network (not even a LOCAL one), then go ahead and do it without restriction.

The OP states that he wants an unpassworded guest account and a passworded admin account.

Please read the posts.

:rolleyes
