i've got an ibook G3 900mhz w/OS X 10.0.3

i restarted my computer and while it was booting up and error msg appeared saying

"panic(cpu 0) unable to find drive for this platform: "powerbook4,3"

"no debugger configured - dumping debug information"

it says alot of other stuff in the middle and ends with this "panic: we arent hanging here..."

anyone know what happened?

Try updating to the latest version of OS X.

it wont even load to the desktop for an update and i have alot of files i wouldnt want 2 lose on the hard drive. i'm sure i could do a reload, but then i'd lose everything so i'm trying 2 find a way around that.

A 900MHz iBook should have come with Jaguar at least, not 10.0.

If you want your files off, restart and hold the T key down. Now your iBook is a Firewire harddrive which can be attached to another Mac and backed up.
