I just noticed a preference pane for "Processor" in the "Other" section of my system preferences... what is it for?

and, what does NAP mean? I tried checking the show control in menubar box, but it does nothing.

Do you have the Apple CHUD Tools installed? That is what put the processor pane in System Preferences for you.

"NAP" is a power saving mode in referece to the processor.

hmm, yes I do have the CHUD tools installed. I installed XCode a few weeks ago, and then never went back to use it due to lack of free time.

Nap is somewhere between awake and asleep.
