Hi, i tried to install 10.4.3, and constantly got a 'failed' message, and it told me to try again. I kept trying and trying, and in the end decided my ibook didnt like 10.4.3. But then I tried installing Apple remote desktop 2.1 client, as I am trying to get some sort of remote desktop thing going, and that wouldnt install either, giving the same error message.

What gives? Anyone got any suggestions, they woudl be GREATLY appreciated!

I had the same problem on my Powerbook when updating iniitally, but tried later and it worked fine. I noticed that the update package jumped from around 56MB to 94MB when I eventually was able to update successfully, so maybe there was something wrong with the first version.

that happened to me not to long ago.
i finally put in the start up disk and did a archive and install and it was all fine. its something that happens to the tmp folder i think that doesnt allow it to be written to while the downloads are opened.

If that's all it is, you should be able to delete the entire /tmp folder and reboot. After all, it *is* the /tmp folder.
