just moved from 10.4.2 to 10.4.3, but did not fix this:
(also did a repair from disk utility)

my apple menu (imac G5) shows 2 shutdowns, restarts, logouts.
each second one does not have the three dots...and works without needing the confirmation window.

odder still, i get a force quit in the menu related to the frontmost app.

AND

am getting black outlines around icons, windows, highlighted items...

any ideas? what could cause this?

is an archive&install necessary???

got it.
girlfriend accidently turned on universal access...that brought up all the problems!

so...fixed

(after, alas, an archive & install...time to run updates, reinstall quark, etc..!)
