Hi,
I just upgraded to Tiger from Panther. Mostly very happy.
I did a backup of every thing on the old system and then an erase and install of 10.4.3 onto my 1.5Ghz 15" PB (1.5 GB RAM)
However I've found 2 apps so far that won't accept the product code from the old panther version. Quicktime 7.0.3 and Super Douper (latest Version). Which means I can't use the pro versions which is a) what I poaid for and b) what I need.
Can Anyone shine some light onto this.
Do I have to buy a new product key? It seems a little unfair as I only just bought them and after all the old system only exists as a backup.
Or am I missing something?
Thanks

If you had a registered copy of Quicktime 7 for Panther, then your key should work and since it doesn't, you should contact Apple to request a new key (for free).
If your old key was a Quicktime 6 key, then you really have to buy a new one.

Yeah. If you already had a QT7 key, it will (should) work, no matter if you are using Panther or Tiger. A QT6 key will not work.
Your Super Duper key should definitely work, just email the author and I'm sure it will be sorted.

The SuperDuper dev is awesome. He will take care of you. Plus he is getting ready to upgrade to version 2 and registered users get it free!

Yes, I had to get a new QT Pro key aimed to the current QT 7 version, but my old SuperDuper! license code worked like a charm. I agree, Dave Nanian is a great guy, I can read his iChat status line "SuperDuper! 2.0 when I wake" just now.
