Is there any way to get the full date to display in the menu bar along with the time? Right now I just have the abbreviated day of the week along side the time (e.g., Tue 1:42 PM). I'd rather have something like Nov 22, 2005 1:42 PM show up.

Modify the abbreviated date format in System Preferences -> International ->Formats to include the information you want.

I tried that and the format stays the same in the menu bar.
