I was messing around with ubuntu linux, and after a lot of stupid things I ended up with 20gigs of free space that OSx can't see. So I used the disk utility to make a partition with those 20 gigs of free space, but it gives me a warning saying is going to erase the other partitons too! , the OS X one, where the system is, and the ubuntu.
It's possible to make a partition with out formatting the others in OSX? or any other way?.
Pardon my English, I'am from Quito, Ecuador.
Thank you for your help

I think you're probably selecting the entire disk in Disk Utility. Instead of the entire disk, can you select just the partition in question?

Or, if pedroperez80 means to partition the drive without reformatting it: sorry, you can't do that with Disk Utility.

Are there any programs that can partition a +HFS drive without destroying the data? I know Windows has PartitionMagic, but how about OS X?
