Not sure if this is the right place for it it, but is it possible to manually install and uninstall built in apps in 10.3 and 10.4. Such as Mail, Safari, Address book and so forth. If the program is found to be at fault, how do I uninstall and reinstall JUST that program??

Thanks.

Yep, you can do this using Pacifist (link in my sig).

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

The usual thing to try first though would be to trash the preferences of said program and see if that fixed the issue.

OK thanks for that, but if removing the plists for the app doesnt work and end up dragging all the associated program files to the trash, how do I then reinstall the program?? Do I have to do a fresh install, or is there another option built in to OSX, other than third party apps (thanks anyway CharlesS)
