Any Terminal Command to Determine When a User Last Logged In?

Is there any terminal command I can use to determine when (date, if not time) a local user last logged in? Would such a log be kept, and if so, would it be maintained past a reboot?

Yep, last is generally the command for this sort of thing, though finger has the information too.
