help I can't burn a cd in 10.2.8

i have an old imac running jaguar that I sold a friend, he has done something to it. I can't burn a cd in iPhoto and when in the finder the blank cd icon doesn't appear. Everytime I pop a cd in disk utility opens and the cd ejects. How do I turn this off? The strange thing is iTunes can still burn cds.

Check in System Preferences to see what the action is when you put a CD in.
