I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.3 Tiger. When I triple-click the title bar of a window, it quickly minimizes and quickly maximizes again. How would this ever be useful? Does someone who is minimizing a window suddenly in a millisecond realize that they didn't want to minimize it so they throw an extra click in there to maximize it again? It seems to do it in the Finder. I haven't tried it on ALL apps but, Safari doesn't do it.

Try it in the Finder... Quickly click 3 times on a titlebar in the Finder.

Edit: It works best on Genie effect. I think scale is too fast to make it happen. You must click pretty rapidly.

Edit: Works in Illustrator too! Maybe it's just for Carbon Apps?

I've never noticed that before, but the Finder does indeed do that. Strange.

I've seen it a few times, but I didn't know that I was triple clicking the titlebar... I just thought it was a strange occurrence because it doesn't happen often.

It doesn't work in all Carbon apps. I just tried SimpleText and it didn't happen. It appears that some apps (not sure of the commonality yet) take clicks while minimizing to mean "Bring this window to the front." The same thing will happen if you shift-minimize and click inside the window before it gets to the Dock.
