I have hundreds, and dupes, in my "open with" menu, how can I clear this and get it nice and clean?

Easiest way: Download Cocktail. Go to System/Misc/ Click on Rebuild Launch Services.

Download Cocktail. Click on System Button then Misc Button. Click Rebuild Launch Services.

This doubling up on 'Open With' seems to be related to Spotlight and indexing when you have a Firewire HD connected, at least that seems to be what causes the problem for me.
