Not sure if this question belongs under hardware or software, because it's kind of both...
I've been thinking about upgrading the 80GB hard disk in my Powermac G5 because it's getting pretty full, but I really don't want to have to reinstall everything on to a clean disk.
Is there a method or utility to clone the contents of my original disk on to a new (bigger, obviously) disk? I know there are utilities for PC that do this, but what about for mac?

Carbon Copy Cloner
SuperDuper!
Or, you can do a clean install of Mac OS X 10.4.x and then use Migration Assistant.

The OSX installer will do it for you: install the second HD and install OSX from the DVD onto it. The installer then askes something like "import applications/user settings from..." - you can select your old drive and import everything from it.
Or, use Apples disk utility: install the new drive, format it with disk utility, and I think theres a right most tab to "restore from xyz" - select your old drive as the source, new as the destination, go, sit back and wait. When its done, you'll be able to startup from the new drive.
