I have been having REAL problems, that, it seems, noone can help me with.
I really need t know- can i install os9 from a .dmg?
i think i haave tried to befire, and classic tries to start and says it only functions from origional media.
I DID install panther from burned cd's, but it installed fine- is that the problem?
If not, what is? And how do i fix this???

1. Burn the .dmg to CD using Disk Utility.
2. Leave the burned CD in the computer.
3. Reboot while holding down the 'C' key.
4. Follow the directions on the screen to install OS 9.

that suggestion doens't work if the computer doens't support booting OS 9 (or even if it does, the drivers may not be there).

Just mount the OS 9 image and copy it to the desired location.
reboot
go to system prefs and select classic (it should find it).
This method guarantees the use of the Classic environment.
If you need to boot in OS 9 then that's a different thing.
