I have an executable at the root of my filesystem (10.4.4, but it's been there since October of 2005) called "airtest". It simply returns the number 2 when run. I'm wondering if anybody knows what it is or where it came from. I'm assuming it has something to do with detecting what kind of wireless hardware my system has, but I'm just not sure. I can't find any info about it anywhere else.

Mmmkay, so I know that at least 37 people (views at the time of this posting) do not have airtest on their systems... I'm getting suspicious.

Did you Get Info on it? By the way, when you say "executable", I assume you mean it's a UNIX command-line executable?

If you don't know what it is, just chuck it. Nobody else seems to know, so it's most unlikely that it's something useful.

Yeah, sounds like you should just dump it or leave it as you see fit. I can't find any such file on my system.
