One of my clients is a Media/Printing company, and one of the Prepress guys has been having a problem with his printers since yesterday afternoon.

Basically, he has a list of over a dozen network printers in his printer list. Since yesterday afternoon, they keep disappearing. His list will go from a full list, to nothing. If he tries to add a printer to add them back (under Default Browser in the Printer setup utility) the bottom of the screen just sits there with a wheel saying "updating driver list". It will sit there as long as it feels like, but never finish. The only way out is to go to Reset Printing System under the Printer Setup Utility menu. Once this is done, the printers can be added back.

The problem is, he had to do this 3 times yesterday. And this morning, over the course of the last hour, he's had to do it twice.

Any ideas on this one? For kicks, he's updating to 10.4.4, but I doubt that will fix it.

ETA: We just noticed that he loses the printers whenever he restarts his computer. If it is left on, no problems, but if he restarts, he loses his printers.

(in case this is in the wrong forum, apologies in advance)
