I installed tiger on my g3s original hard drive. i then used carbon copy to copy that drive to a 20 gig hard drive. but now when booting the computer, the gray apple logo shows up and it beings loading. but then a black box appears and it freezes. how do i fix this?

It the computer still boots from the internal drive, I'd clone the hard drive again.

Yeah. I'd clone the hard drive again and try once more. If it still doesn't boot, then maybe that external drive is not bootable. Not all are.

OK. I'd still try cloning it once more time. If it still doesn't boot, then I'd pull out my Tiger/Panther/Jaguar install disc and try to install a fresh OS onto the second drive to find out it boots.

nope, still no go. the installer disks dont recognize the hard drive half of the time. i'm thinking its time to actually go buy a new drive for it. Thanks for all your help!
