I am doing some tech freelance for this guy. I am backing up all the multi-media disks he has done over his career. (first time he has backed up anything in this case)
anyway, I made disk images of his CDRs/DVDs so that they were "pristine" copies of his CDRs. OSX has made .cdr files that go up to 8 Gigs. they do not seem to be able to copy into his firewire harddrive. it says a file is corrupted or missing or something. however, when i run the multimedia from the disk image — it runs fine.
it's too large for a DVD disk, 8 gigs and sometimes 10+ — how do you guys suggest I back it up?
anyway I can break the CDR into 2 images or something and burn 2 DVDs and re-connect them or some way of encapsulating the .cdr image into another file type and saving it into the disk that way? (i already tried stuffing/zipping the file overnight — it timed out)
thanks y'all
