Attempting to install Tiger on a PM G4 867Mhz, which meets all the system requirements (DVD-ROM, 512Mb RAM, plenty of HDD space). However, the installer says "This software cannot be installed on your computer" and will go no further. Any ideas? I'm completely stumped as to why it won't work (currently on 10.3.9)

Have you tried the archive and install option, or just the regular upgrade?

Regular upgrade.

It's not my machine unfortunately, so I can't do what I'd normally do which would be the archive and install due to the data loss. Even so, surely an upgrade install should work?

You wont lose any data by doing and archive and install, hence the name *archive* Just remember to check preserve user and network settings. And should you forget it, the files would still be on the machine in a .dmg archive.

Can't give a good answer for why the upgrade install wont work...
