hanging problems!!!!!

Dear friends,
my system is hanging suddenly in 5 min after i restart. what i'm doing now is starting it in safe mode. but in safe mode i'm not getting volume and some of the applications are not running. my OS is OSX 10.3.9. anybody have a suggestion for me.
