Sync iTunes music between iMac and PowerBook

My goal is to keep my iTunes Music directory in sync between my desktop (iMac) and PowerBook. I've tried a program called Slingshot, but while it keeps the files in sync iTunes doesn't seem to recognize the new files in either direction. I sync everything in there including the iTunes Library and the iTunes Music Library.xml file.

Any ideas on how to approach this? Seems like it would be a fairly common need for people with multiple Macs.
