I was trying to copy of load of files from my internal drive to an external hard drive and I keep getting this error:

I was trying to copy a folder full of files, mostly pictures. Now, I seem to remember the Finder offering me an option the times before I've encountered such oddness. I believe it asked me whether to skip those files and continue, or stop. Now it doesn't give me any choice. I find this very inconvenient.

My questions:

1.) What is causing this? It seems like some file corruption, but the Finder offers no further details.

2.) How can I continue the copy regardless? I will have to take a look at those files, but does that mean I have to hunt each one of them down (there may be more-- the Finder does not tell me; It just quits on the first one it finds) before I can? I am thinking that the terminal might come in handy here... maybe the bash copy command...

3.) How can I fix these corrupted files?

somethings wrong with your internal HD causing Finder to be unable to read from your source files or write to it the external. Run Disk Utility or any other repair utils u have.

A dose of Disk Utilities followed by DiskWarrior seems to have fixed it. Still, I'm a bit concerned, but at least it works now, right?...

Yes, glad it worked.

Its not that uncommon for little irregularities to pop up occasionally in HFS+ file systems. However, if this is a re-occuring thing, maybe you mite not want to put anything too irreplacable on the volumes in question.
