Did a search but did not find same problem...

Since I intalled Tiger 10.4.3 (from Panther) I have been getting a static/hum/digital zipper sound on mouse moves, while scrolling and also just watching banner animations happening. If you click and hold the mouse the sound stops. I can also hear the drive spin down occasionally through the speakers. This happens on all open apps.

All my connections are balanced, checked and rechecked. This started right after Tiger install. Is this a known bug... is there a remedy?

Thanks

Try zapping the pram - hold down cmd-opt-p-r while the computer starts up. wait for the chime.

I had a weird crunching noise instead of actual sound and a good old pram zap fixed it.
You can take the dude out of So Cal, but you can't take the dude outta the dude, dude!

There was an OSX audio issue with the MDD models (some rev's back) that required you to unplug the audio jack and plug it back in to stop the distortion, or use the plug on the front (which I did). Oddly enough I moved the plug back to the rear and now seems to work, go figure.

Pram did not help. Thanks for your help just the same.
