is there a way that i can prove i was sitting at my computer using it? i may be inplicated in something and need to prove that i was using my computer...because i was using my computer. Basically is there a log that records mouse usage or typing?

Not unless you've installed additional software to do that.

However, the console and system logs will show that your computer was in use and potentially what applications were being used. Launch Console (/Applications/Utilities) and view the console.log and system.log.

Also, if you created or saved any files during the period in question, the creation/modification dates will indicate this.

What you won't be able to prove is that it was you who was using the computer.

Umm, if it's legal surely a log file on your own personal computer won't hack it. These are text files after all and can be modified after the fact.
