I got this DP 2.0ghz PM and a Samsung 19inch LCD 913t @ 1280 X 1024. I have it hooked up with DVI cable.

In System Prefs>Displays it stays at 1280x1024 but changes color profile when switching users, and sometimes changes at the login window. So when im on one account i set it to Apple RGB. and come on to my user it goes from Apple RGB to Generic RGB profile. this is real frustrating cause this generic one its reall washed out.

I usually have to reconnect the DVI cable for it to "re reconize" the display which then goes to Apple RGB.

There is also something messy with the sharpness or text on this display.
.
as you can see, the left side is a imac 17inch, and on the right side is my 19inch samsung. whats up with that. you can see the text is a little less sharp kinda deal.

For the latter issue, do you have System Preferences>Appearance>Font Smoothing Style set to the same values for the two machines. It seems likely that the iMac is set at Medium to Strong whereas the Samsung is set to Standard or Light.

For the former, there is a bug in 10.4.x (don't know if 10.4.4 solved it or not) where the colour profile settings are lost when using FUS. You can solve the issue quite easily - read this tip and the user comments at MacOSXHints.com.
