hi, all.

i have noticed that when i go into internet connect, my saved password is longer than it should be. i change this in network prefs and internet connect, but it keeps changing.

if i type the right one in on network prefs. , and click apply now, three or two more characters will jump on the end in the box.

how can i fix this?

Have you tried just connecting with the password as it is? Maybe it's showing a default number of asterisks so nobody can count the length of your password...

By the way, this subject is on the ragged edge of being a "networking question." Let's keep it focused on whether or not your password is actually changing, ok?

As Glenn points out, extra characters are added password (or in some cases, taken away from) the length of the apparent password in order to make it more difficult for others to guess at it by judging its length. It does not change the password the user provided; it simply masks it.
