I had a flash of evil brilliance!

OS X Tiger: Core Audio, Core Video, Core Data

Intel: new Core Processors

Was the switch in the works a long time ago?

Am I hallucinating?

EvilMoe could possibly be on to something, although for that to be true one would have to believe Apple knew about the eventual product name for Yonah long before it leaked to the public.

According to Steve Jobs, there have been builds of OSX running on Intel processors since the 10.0 days, if not even sooner. Even before then, though, rumors of a Mac port to Intel date all the way back to System 7, supposedly under the code name "Star Trek".
