Ok.. I've been trawling all over the web for the past couple of weeks and found nothing.
I'm trying to install OSX on a PB G4, but the darn thing keeps freezing on a blank blue screen.
I've tried just about everything.
New RAM
New HDD
Cleared NVRAM
Boot from firewire CD/DVD
boot in verbose mode
boot in OF

The PB seems to run fine with the OE HDD apps etc etc... I just wanted to upgrade to OSX but no joy. I have retail Panther and Upg Tiger CDs. The panther CD doesn't even get to the blue screen, and the Tiger disk always stops at the blue screen.

Up until now I have been strictly a PC user.. so my foray into the MacWorld over the past couple of weeks have been a baptism of fire..

If one can shed some light that woudl much appreciated..

Cheers.

i believe that the blue screen is a firmware update.

it sometimes happens on my imac when installing. it hasnt mannageed to install 10.3 on it yet.
i have 10.3 on my powermac though, so it doesnt really matter.

ok.. for those that are interested..

I went out and purchased a retail ver of OSX Tiger 10.4.3 and the darn thing booted up without a hiccup..

I know I'm a n00b and all... but would it have been to much to ask for an error message rather than just throw up a blank blue screen??
