How do I uninstall programs? I installed the Developer's tools from the cd, but decided to remove them for space until I buy a bigger HD. My roommate told me to remove it I just drag it to the trashcan. Tried that, and got something about attached to root or some such.
Also, I installed WC3 and it ran smoothly. Then I installed the expansion and neither ran smoothly anymore. I drug those program folders to the trash, and it worked.

For most applications, you do just drag them to the Trash. The Developer Tools are a little more complicated, since they leave a lot of header files in /System/Library/Frameworks and such.
On the Tiger version of the developer tools, there's a script in /Developer/Tools called uninstall-devtools.pl. If you have something similar to this in the Jaguar dev tools, your best bet would be to run that script in the Terminal, using sudo.

I read that before I posted. It doesn't help. I'm trying to remove Developer's Tools.

Gee. The readme file for the developer's tools tells you exactly how to uninstall them.
Did ya even think to look?
Uninstalling Xcode Tools
To uninstall Xcode Tools on your system, type in a Terminal window:
$ sudo perl /Developer/Tools/uninstall-devtools.pl
To uninstall from the CD or disk image that contains Xcode Tools, type in a Terminal window:
$ sudo perl /Volumes/Xcode\ Tools/Utilities/uninstall-devtools.pl
NOTE: The uninstaller that ships with previous versions of Xcode Tools or the Developer Tools will not clean everything off of your system properly. You should either use the one on the Xcode Tools 2.2 DVD, or you should use the one installed when you installed Xcode Tools 2.2.
NOTE: Running the uninstall script from Xcode Tools will uninstall any previous installations of Mac OS X Developer Tools or Xcode Tools releases.
NOTE: After running the uninstall script, you should restart your system before installing the Xcode Tools again.

Apps that you can just drag onto your drive, you can usually just trash like your roomie said. For apps that require installers, there's usually an accompanying uninstaller.
The devtools come with an uninstaller script. Here's how you run it: In the Developer folder, there should be a folder called Tools. Inside that folder, there should be a file called uninstall-devtools.pl. I think it was the same in 10.2. If that's all in the right place, open the Terminal. In the Terminal, type "sudo " (no quotes, but with the space afterward). Then drag in the uninstall-devtools.pl file. Hit return. It should ask you for your password. After you enter that, you should be free of the developer tools.

Thanks for the info.
Super,
I'm obviously new with Mac's and have said as much. It's like moving from the US to Europe. Things are the same, but different.
Besides, the only stupid question is an unasked one.

What kind of machine are you running? 10.3 is a very worthy upgrade even if you're new to Macs.

I've got a Sawtooth. I'll be going to 10.4 soon. Also plan on upgrading the processor, ram, hd and vid.

I did that. It said it was uninstalled. The file is still there. When I drag and drop, I get the same denial due to root.
