Hello All!

I'm wanting some advice on cleaning up my system. Quicksilver 867mhz, 1.12GB Ram, 60GB Boot Hard Drive, 80GB & 160GB internal Hard drives for projects. I have roughly 6GB remaining on my boot drive and really want to wipe it clean and install OSX 10.4 fresh. (Currently running 10.3)

My question is: will I loose my iTunes purchases? I have them backed up to disc - is it as simple as drag and copy back into the iTunes folder?

Would you recommend any other way to handle this? I am prepared for the reinstall of all my main apps & add-ons, etc. My thoughts were this would be the easiest way to get rid of the years of accumulating uneccesary data.

Many thanks in advance!

According to the iTunes help, just backing up the iTunes music folder should be enough. I would think that should include not just the AAC files but all the other support files too-which should include all the licensing data needed to play those DRM'd music files.

Just the AAC-files contain "all the licensing data". You don't need to back up the rest, though you might want to to keep your playcount and recently played information.

You don't need to if you stay on the same computer, but I would deactivate my iTMS-account before wiping the disk.
