Hi fellows,
I am not sure it is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong:

1. When choosing "view as columns" Finder used to give a preview of picture files. After upgrading to 10.4.5, Finder has stopped displaying previews of my pictures. I didn't do anything, just upgraded to 10.5. Is this a bug?

2. Spotlight: When I search a file that contains a combination of letters in its filename, spotlight can locate it only if this combination starts with a capital letter. Example:
The file with a filename "Macandre1970" will not be located if I put "andre1970" on spotlight. Instead, the file with a filename "MacAndre1970" will be located if I put "andre1970", since now andre1970 starts with a capital letter.
Is this a bug? It has been like that since the beginning of tiger. If not, do you have any idea on how to fix it (if possible)? I mean, even in windows explorer you can locate files without so many restrictions.

Thank you so much for your answers!

There is a disclosure triangle with which you can turn the preview in column view on and off. You can also turn preview on and off in the View Options (⌘J) of column view. Check these settings.

The Spotlight menu thing and the Spotlight window only search for the beginning of whole words (and it seems a capital letter makes it think there is a word break just like a whitespace). If you want to search for partial words you need to do a Finder search (⌘F) and in the popup (not the the search field in the toolbar) you select "Name" and then "contains" and then the partial word fragment you are looking for.
