Change DVD Write speed in dvd studio Pro

I'm new to the Apple platform and Power Mac G5..I love it BUT
I have dvd burner GWA-4165B,This only burns at a write speed of x4 ... When I'm using dvd studio pro the x4 dvd's will burn with perfection but when I put in a 1-8x disc they won't burn..I can't see where to change the write speed???? idvd has a write speed option but Where is it in DVD studio pro ??????????????????????????.....
I have a large supply of x1-8discs so any help would be great ...
