I just bought my first mac ever: mac mini with intel processor. I have been a windows user all my life and used to hate macs. Howerver within few years I slowly started to change my mind. And finally this friday i bought one and I love it. The only thing that I don't like so far is that the fan is too loude. I used macs before at school but i know very little about them.
Anyways here is my question: I imported some music videos from my pc laptop, some are in avi and some are in mpeg format. When i press the menu button on my remote it goes in to this "intertainmnet" window. My music videos are listed under movies. What do I need to do so the system shows them under music videos? I guess there is some sort of a tag on the file? Please Help.
Long live apple!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe the movies need to be QuickTime compatible. If QuickTime Player is able to open your movies, you should be able to view them in Front Row.

My quicktime plays them just fine, I installed xvid and divx codes and I got quicktime pro. What do u mean by viewing them in Front Row? Is that how that "intertainment" window is called?

It's great to see another solid Windows fan coming to OS X. Welcome As far as the music videos being classified as music videos, I believe Apple has not updated iTunes to allow the user to tag one's own music videos and TV shows so that they show up in the correct categories. I don't know what's taking Apple so long.

Yes, the only ones that can be tagged as music videos are ones you download from the iTunes music store.

to classify a video as movie, music video or television show, get info on the file in itunes and choose the 'options' pane and change the 'video kind' drop down.
