Sorry for this newbie question. I am trying to restore my iBook to factory state. My MAC O/S DVD fails the disk check in Disk Utility program. Apple recommends I make an image then copy the image to a new DVD - but the image is 5G and the biggest DVD I find is 4.x G
Do I need to format the DVD first or?
Thank you very much!

If the original DVD is damaged, I doubt copying it will work. But if you'd like to try, you could. You'd need to use a dual-layer DVD+R instead of a standard DVD-R, though, and they're expensive. Also, you need to make sure the SuperDrive in your Mac is capable of burning dual-layer discs or it won't work.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
