Menubar items (right half) not showing up

For the past 24 hours I have the problem of no "Right side" menubar items showing.
Items such as: Spotlight, clock, login name etc..
I did the following to try to fix it:
1) Turn off all 3rd party menu extras
2) Ran Cocktail and did a deep cleaning off cashe
3) repaired permissions
4) Trashed all Apple preferences
5) Ran Applejack
6) Turned off all startup items
Any other suggestions?

Using that Front Row enabler hack? I recall it having that nasty side effect.

There are some instructions here that are supposed to fix the crashing.
