I have a powerbook that started running very, very badly. I mean totally unusable. I made a new account on the same computer and it runs great again. I want my files from my other account. Is there a way to move those file to my new account without using an external HD. I tried to transfer the files onto my external HD but the old account just won't work at all. Help please.

Assuming you don't have any invisible files (and you wouldn't, unless you created them deliberately) then you should be able to just drag and drop from the old Home folder to the new one using the Finder. This will copy the files, rather than just moving them, but in the process it should even update the owner to reflect your new account.
