Out of nowhere I no longer have sound in any browser on my mac. I have a powerbook g4 with the most recent version of OS X. Quicktime in the browser seems to work, it is all other video such as google video and youtube that are not. Anyone have any ideas as to why this would happen?

Often times this can be fixed by launching GarageBand.

That did it. Amazing. I have looked everywhere on google for an answer to this. Thank you so much.

I fixed it by opening Audio MIDI Setup (in Applications/Utilities) and choosing Audio Output Format @ 44100.0 Hz & 2ch-16bit.
