My keychain seems to be dead - for example, when I open Skype, I get:

A keychain cannot be found to store ".token.0."


when I try to repair, I get this....

Repair started
Checking keychain configuration for Nick (user ID=501)
Home directory is /Users/nick
Checked login keychain
Error: login keychain not found
Repair terminated unexpectedly

I have Tiger on a new PowerBook.

What do you find if you look in your ~/Library/Keychains folder - is there a login.keychain present? If not it sounds like something has caused it to be deleted. If there isn't one present, then that is your problem. If there is one present it is obviously corrupted beyond repair so temporarily move it to the desktop and re-launch keychain. Then create a new login.keychain to store passwords in.

Thank you - it looks like you were right - sorry to have posted in panic, it seems that restarting caused my inflatable self righting mac to fix itself...
