Um, did this post of mine not contain anything? I have no clue why there's nothing it anymore. Anyway, I'm going to give this a *bump* and see if this post works. I'm having problems with java not displaying on a website. I get this error in Camino and it just doesn't load in Safari.

Removing the Internet Plug-Ins folder from the Library folder is what
does the trick. Somehow this had an old version of Java.

I'll also note that it's just weird that Java prefs are set in an
application program! This should be in the system preferences, like
everything else....

Well, I tried what you suggested but it did not work. I noted in the one link that creating a new user account might solve the problem. That also did not work; however, in playing around with the Permissions for the Internet Plug-Ins folder, I somehow managed to get things going. Perhaps this was a permissions issue and not that there's an older version of Java still installed?
