see the picture...I've tried to repair permissions, delete cache etc. but it didn't work.
i didn't do any thing special before it happened. I just used superduper to do a backup. i don't think it was the reason....

If you have the Cocktail utility installed click on System and then Misc and Rebuild Launch Service database.

That should fix it.
