Hi,

Have you ever sat down at looked at the Flurry screensaver..?! I wonder how many of you is noticing the same as me.. Look at the Flurry screensaver and watch carefully. If your Mac is anything like my iMac G5 20" (iSight) - you'll notice a horizontal line appearing and sorta scrolling up and down. As if the screensaver tries to refresh the screen or something. You'll probably also notice this in the Doom3 intro movie.

note. the line will appear either at the top halft , middle or bottom half of the screen.

How many of you are seeing this ? Because I went to an Apple store and looked at the new Intel iMacs and they have the same problem.

OS: OS X Tiger 10.4.5- fully updated.

Its been documented before. IIRC, it affects ATI chipsets more noticeably than nVidia chipsets. Some kind of a persistent driver bug in OS X.

My dual 2.5GHz G5 w/ an ATI X800XT and a 30" cinema display shows the same thing, as does my wife's iMac G5 (nVidia FX5200). But I seem to recall seeing a G5 w/ an nVidia 6800 at an Apple store which didn't do it.
