problem with icons

	Hi, I am new in here and I have a problem with my mac. I changed some of the icons' pictures that are standing on my desktop. But when I shut down my computer, the icon(a textedit file) that I changed before, changes to it's original icon(it's picture become the textedit picture-a paper-). Besides that the icon changes it's place too... Do you have any idea about that?? How can I prevent changing it's place and it's picture? Thank youu
