Maybe it's because nobody has an answer.

If your pictures aren't of the proper dimensions to begin with, there is no tool (Automator included) that can magically make them widescreen.

I think what he wants is to have automator crop them to widescreen dimensions, which should be possible (although I don't know how to do it) but you'd have to keep in mind that automated cropping is probably not a great idea. You need to do it manually so you can tell which parts to keep and which to crop out (for some photos this makes a huge difference).

The Pad Images action can be used to scale and resize the images to widescreen dimensions. It is found in the Preview action library.

You can also do it in iPhoto, however you'll nee to do one at the time. But I guess that's what you need to do anyway as you want to have control of what's being chopped off.

I need something that work with all the pics inside a folder, cuz I got tons of pics I need to convert or crop on widescreen size. Please somebody help me here, I really don't care if some heads get chopped, if the crop is made on the center of the pic it will work for me, for real. if I try one at atime it will be forever..

You've been given a solution by Sal, the manager of AppleScript at Apple. Use the Pad Images action under Preview in Automator.
