Hi All,

Have a G4 400 running 10.4 with over 800MB of RAM.

Lately out of nowhere, I have been getting the following message

"You need to restart your computer, hold down the power button....etc."

After doing this, the G4 comes up and almost immediately the same message shows up again.

I tried booting from my 10.4 DVD and running Disk Utility, it fixes the drive permissions but when I try to repair the disk it exits with an Invalid Sibling Link Error.

Is there anything I can do? There are a quite a few photos on this drive that I would like to recover at least.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Try booting into single user mode and issue a fsck -f command repeatedly until it stops reporting errors, then reboot. If that doesn’t work, try running Disk Warrior (this could be a directory problem you’re experiencing.)
