Open Links in Dashboard in Background?

Say I have a widget that contains a web link. Is there any key combo to open that link without deactivating Dashboard? I have several news related widgets that often have several links I want to open, but it's really annoying to click one link, activate Dashboard again, click another link, activate Dashboard again, etc.
